My Worst Diabetes Symptom
The one symptom of type 2 diabetes that I probably hate more than any other is that hunger feeling that you get when hungry. I used to feel hungry all the time, even right after eating!
I would eat a meal and by the time I finished I would feel more hungry than before I started the meal. Often times, when I got up in the morning, I wouldn't feel hungry at all. But I would eat breakfast because that meal is so important. And that would make me feel hungry!
That hunger feeling can make it really tough to manage your diabetes. It is really hard to NOT snack on something when you are getting those kinds of feelings.
The problem is really caused by higher blood sugar levels. When my blood sugar is up (over 160-170), I often get those hunger feelings; when it is down (under 160), I don't experience that problem at all, unless they are real hunger pangs because I haven't eaten in several hours and it's time for lunch or dinner.
The key point here is that when your blood sugar is under pretty good control, you won't have this problem. But when your blood sugar is not under control you are likely to have this problem; and when you eat you just make the problem worse because your blood sugar is usually going to rise, depending on what you are eating.
So get your blood sugar under control, like I have, and leave this problem behind.
