Current Guidelines for Type 2 Diabetes Treatment Are WRONG!
Treatment of diabetes is really simple; exercise and control your diet. Treating Type 2 Diabetes with drugs is just flat out wrong. Drugs only exacerbate the problem.
Taking drugs that stimulate your pancreas to produce more insulin results in too much insulin in the blood stream and wears out your pancreas faster than normal. Too much insulin increases your weight, which increases your blood sugar levels. And then your doctor will increase your dosage and the cycle will continue, all heading to a bad ending.
I think that the recommendations from major health organizations (like the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the medical community) are wrong. We need to educate them.
You would think the ADA would figure this out since the incidence of type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes keeps rising, and rising fast. If the treatments that the ADA recommends were working, wouldn't we see some evidence of that? Instead, we are seeing complications from diabetes and annual deaths rising at an alarming rate every year. Does that sound like current treatments are working?
In 2000 the U.S. population was more than 281 million and 7% had diabetes, nearly twenty million people. In 2008 the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta estimated that 24 million Americans have diabetes, with 95% of that number having Type 2 Diabetes. With a current population of over 301 million, that’s about 8% of the population.
The CDC also estimates that 57 million Americans have pre-diabetes. This means that 81 million Americans have diabetes or are pre-diabetic. That’s an astounding 27% of the total population! This is an epidemic of massive proportions and until our medical leaders (and us) start taking a more proactive and different approach, this problem will only continue to worsen!
I fired my last doctor because my numbers had gone up some and his only solution was to prescribe one drug for controlling blood sugar, another drug for cholesterol, and a third drug for triglycerides.
Do you think that anyone has tested the use of multiple toxic chemicals in the human body over long periods of time? I doubt it, and using all those chemicals can’t be good for you. There are already enough toxic substances in the environment and our food to worry about.
Don’t get me wrong, in the short term, using drugs may be necessary to reduce high blood sugar or cholesterol levels. But, I will never take those drugs again because there are far better solutions for combating and defeating Type 2 Diabetes.
So what I am saying is that drugs and/or insulin are not the solution for treatment of type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes. We can beat this problem if we can educate people about diabetes, diet, nutrition, and exercise. That includes doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals, as well as you and me.
